Next Gen is always happy to hear from individuals with time, expertise and energy that are interested in getting involved with the Next Gen Working Groups. Each group is currently working on a number of exciting projects, events and initiatives. Currently, Next Gen's Working Groups are at capacity, but you are encouraged to contact us for information about how to volunteer with Next Gen soon! Next Gen Projects
This group is working on a few projects that aim to engage young people. Currently, the group is working with the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL). Past projects include: a workshop at the Global Youth Assembly and exploring a Winter Event for Edmonton's Winter Festival.
Communications
This group is working on maintaining and growing the profile and buzz around Next Gen, its issues and events and projects! Volunteers will build connections and develop tools for communicating with the community and Next Gen database and lead on taking the key Next Gen messages out to others! Current projects this group is working on include: creating a welcome package for new Edmontonians, creating a Next Gen video and promoting Next Gen to stakeholders and the public.
Events and Networking
This group is working on a number of learning and networking events. The Events Working Group is currently working on another year of Pecha Kucha Nights as well as hosting future speaking events and world cafe community conversations on Next Gen issues.
