The Centre for Family Literacy has an ongoing need for volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with adults who want to improve their reading, writing or math skills. Training is provided (Nine hours total over three evenings: October 12, 18 and 26) and a minimum monthly 2-hour commitment is required.
Homeward Trust is recruiting 300 volunteers for both the 2016 Homeless Count happening on October 19 and 20, and Homeless Connect on Sunday, October 23. Registration fills up quickly, so register now to ensure your spot! Please contact Janine for more information or to register.
Canadian Immigrant is looking for dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers for their Career, Education and Settlement Immigrant Fair in Edmonton. The event will be held at the Shaw Conference Centre on October 19, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This opportunity is open to anyone over 18 years who is willing to commit to being at the event for the duration of the event. Taking inspiration from current exhibitions, this late-night art party conjures ideas of morality and mortality.
