Celebrating Reconciliation

Participate in events throughout the week in celebration of the second anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The events taking place throughout the week will celebrate Edmonton’s rich Indigenous history and recognize the reconciliation efforts being done in our city.

Lana Gets Her Talk

A cinematic observation of Indigenous artist Lana Whiskeyjack as she works to complete a mixed-media sculpture.  This brief study of an artist and her work is a creative medium through which we can come to some understanding of the trauma experienced by Canada’s Indigenous people in the Indian Residential School system

This free presentation by Anna Wilson will explore how Indigenous stories can help us cope with stress. There are many stories we encounter throughout our lifetimes. Some stories have the potential to heal because they can redirect our thoughts from a moment of stress into a moment of joy.

Youth Art Walk

Are you a visual artist between the ages of 9 and 17? Do you have art you want to show, share or sell? The Paint Spot is seeking young visual artists to set up and create art live – ‘art walk-style’ during Backbeat School of Rock’s Block Party.

Wine & Wildlife: Bees!

The Yards Summer Salon

The Works Art & Design Festival 2017

For 13 days every summer, The Works unleashes art & design throughout 1 square kilometer of Edmonton's downtown core . Completely free to the public, the Festival is an extravaganza of visual art, design and entertainment that attracts artists and patrons from around the globe.

Apathy is Boring: 150 Years Young

In partnership with the Works Festival, Apathy is Boring will be projecting inspiring photos and captions promoting the contributions of millenials on buildings in downtown Edmonton.
